
Safety Specialist, South East Territory

AVI Foodsystems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of
Safety Specialist
for our dining operations. This position will be responsible for our South East Territory. The roll will be centrally based out of either Spartanburg, SC or Charlotte NC. This position will require travel 75% of the time including overnight 3-5 days per week. A company vehicle will be provided for this position.

Responsibilities
Support and assist in maintaining AVI’s company-wide safety program
Assist in developing, implementing and monitoring proactive safety programs, training and tools
Conduct safety walk-through inspections of AVI accounts and provide constructive feedback
Provide onsite operational support for alignment with the Safety System
Conduct onsite food and physical safety training
Track and report on safety performance for all operating divisions
Track safety statistics/trends and provide analysis
Assist in monitoring 3rd party audit program compliance
Assist with food recalls, warnings, holds and/or withdrawals, as needed
Assist with investigations concerning foodborne illness allegations and/or outbreaks
Assist with safety program implementation, support and training during new account transitions
Qualifications For Position
Possesses a passion for safety in order to serve as a role model and advocate for the company.
Conducts and maintains a professional, courteous and positive image at all times in accordance with the AVI Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Develops positive relationships and rapport with team members, management, and leadership across all divisions.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations that govern the food service industry.
Knowledge of HACCP and OSHA regulations; certification is preferred.
Possesses excellent organizational, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and in the use of web-based information access.
Demonstrated ability to create professional and effective communication and presentations.
Able to work independently to achieve set goals and meet timelines established.
Possesses a valid driver's license and acceptable MVR on driving record.
Able to routinely travel overnight for 3-5 days at a time.
