Position Summary The Counter Sales Associate will assist the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the store, including counter sales, customer service, cash control, and inventory control.
Essential Functions
Provide premier customer service, face‑to‑face, and via telephone
Take and process customer sales orders
Build custom hose assemblies
Respond to customer complaints and comments
Promote the organization on a local level
Maintain an awareness of market trends in the area and industry, understanding customer initiatives and monitoring local competitors' activities
Interact with key account managers, territory managers, and outside sales reps as necessary to meet customer service goals
Keep the store clean, orderly, and safe for customers and employees
Display merchandise attractively
Rotate end caps
Restock merchandise
Perform other duties as requested by manager
Skills And Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to grasp new concepts and generate creative ideas.
Skill to assess risk and work under pressure.
Aptitude for both teamwork and independent work.
Education And Experience
2‑year degree in Business, Engineering Technology or Marketing or 2+ years successful retail or customer service experience.
Minimum 1‑3 years of counter sales experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities None specifically associated with this position.
Physical Requirements
Retail store environment.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Minimal travel to customers.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
