Must be able to work a Tuesday–Saturday schedule and adjust working hours seasonally based on business needs (including 50–60 hour weeks during spring and summer).

Must be living near or willing to relocate to the Louisville, KY area prior to or shortly after hire. Relocation support available to high-qualified candidates.

Must have held a sales management or general management role in a door‑to‑door home services company (e.g., roofing, solar, windows, pest control) or must have experience with high‑ticket, in‑home retail sales (not just insurance‑claim‑driven sales).

Location: Louisville, KY (relocation required) Compensation and Package

Salary range from $85,000 to $110,000 depending on experience

Commission potential up to $50,000 per year plus additional profit‑sharing potential up to $50,000 or more depending on growth

The Role King Contracting is hiring a Sales Leader to take full ownership of the company’s sales function and drive the next level of growth. The business is already established and growing, and this role is critical to helping scale operations, structure the sales team, and lead performance across both insurance and retail channels. The company is targeting 2 to 4 times revenue growth over the next 12 to 18 months, and your success in this role will be clearly visible and directly rewarded.

You won’t just be overseeing reps — you’ll be helping to improve and build the systems and processes that drive results. This includes recruiting and onboarding, sales training, performance management, territory oversight, and compensation planning. The company is moving aggressively into retail roofing sales and needs someone with experience selling directly to homeowners using a consultative approach. You’ll report directly to the founder and work closely with company leadership on growth strategy and execution.

Core Responsibilities

Lead recruiting and hiring for the sales team, including resume screening, structured interviews, field working interviews, and reference checks

Define and document the company’s residential roofing sales process, including both insurance and retail channels

Build a performance‑driven sales culture by setting goals, giving real‑time feedback, recognizing success, and addressing underperformance

Provide direct coaching through 1‑on‑1s, deal reviews, ride‑alongs, and team training

Track sales metrics like doors knocked, appointments set, and contracts closed to guide weekly performance

Review and adjust sales priorities and expectations based on results and team data

Propose updates to compensation plans, including rules, payout triggers, and dispute reduction mechanisms

Oversee onboarding for new hires with 30‑60‑90 day ramp plans and training follow‑through

Reduce turnover by coaching early, managing transitions, and retaining top performers

Co‑lead weekly sales meetings with leadership, focused on team goals and action items

Work with marketing, operations, and finance to ensure clean lead handoffs and track follow‑up

Identify new market opportunities and help plan hiring for future expansion

Provide regular updates to leadership on KPIs, progress, and departmental needs

About You

You’ve led a sales team in a field‑based home services company and know how to recruit, train, and manage reps in a fast‑paced environment

You’ve sold directly to homeowners and know how to close high‑value jobs without relying on insurance claims

You take full ownership of your responsibilities, communicate directly and constructively, and finish what you start

You know how to use data to manage performance and aren’t afraid to make tough decisions to protect team standards

You’re confident creating compensation plans, running structured meetings, and improving how a department operates

You’re experienced with CRMs, spreadsheets, and team communication tools, and able to drive adoption among reps

You can work long hours during seasonal peaks and understand the demands of building a business from the inside out

You’re comfortable in a pet‑friendly office and open to relocating to the Louisville area
