A Designer in this role will be responsible for supporting projects focused on electric infrastructure for California's regulated utilities to address grid reliability, hardening and undergrounding. Designers are responsible for transforming sketches, conceptual designs, mark-ups and other pieces of technical information into completed drawings, details and construction documents for a wide variety of projects involving engineering, architecture, landscape architecture and land surveying elements. Designers use their training, education, and experience to contribute to all stages of project delivery.
Responsibilities Note: This section is integrated into the Overview; specific duties include transforming design concepts into construction documents and supporting project delivery for electric infrastructure projects.
Requirements
An associate degree or certification in industrial design, landscape design, engineering or architectural fundamentals, or computer-aided design (CAD) is preferred.
Skills & Understanding
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to interpret construction documents and specifications.
Ability to prepare comprehensive construction documents.
Knowledge of drafting standards, building codes, and industry regulations.
Capability to perform technical reviews, follow quality assurance plans and execute quality control processes.
Ability to problem-solve, communicate and collaborate with peers and project stakeholders.
Expectations for the "Lead" Title
Are reliable problem solvers with consistent and complete abilities across categories of project planning, technical aptitude and teamwork.
Has at least 7 years of relevant experience.
Location
This position is in person at the Headquarters Office in Clovis, California and requires travel for meetings and site visits.
