Position Overview
Client is seeking a
Business Analyst
to join the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. The BA will support development, testing, and implementation of MMIS projects and enhancements for the MassHealth program, particularly initiatives impacting the member community.
The ideal candidate should be familiar with: Health plan management Operational concepts Systems development lifecycle Medicaid systems (preferred) MassHealth claims and business operations (preferred) Detailed Job Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and participate in joint application design sessions with stakeholders Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodology a plus Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on written requirements Execute and review test runs; sign off on testing components Document requirements and participate in their development and testing Support development of end-user training materials and documentation Possible oversight during stabilization phase, including: Monitoring system change execution Developing system fix strategies Monitoring implementation of those strategies Work with vendors to ensure business requirements are fully defined and tested Communicate updates and changes to impacted stakeholders Represent MMIS in business meetings as needed Support program staff, vendors, and other stakeholders with MMIS-related questions Provide backup to other business analysts as needed Perform data query and analysis Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in business analysis supporting all stages of the system project lifecycle Competency in HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing Strong data analysis skills (SQL proficient) Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with project teams, stakeholders, and external representatives Ability to work independently and within project teams Highly analytical with ability to analyze, document findings, and recommend solutions Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, IT, or Healthcare Administration with a minimum of 3 years' experience, or equivalent in a healthcare administration setting.
