A genuine love for the “grind” and a commitment to the success of every athlete, from the football field to the volleyball court.
  • The Heart:

A desire to live out the Dordt mission, helping students see their athletic gifts as a means of service and worship.

The ideal candidate will combine technical mastery of sports science with the interpersonal skills necessary to lead a diverse athletic department.

  • Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
    • Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in sports performance at the high school, collegiate, or professional level is preferred.

    • Must hold a current Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
    • Must hold current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid.
  • Technical Proficiency: A strong working knowledge and proven teaching skills in the analysis and techniques of sports performance, periodization, and strength training.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NAIA regulations and guidelines regarding the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to interact positively and professionally with student-athletes, colleagues, and the public, representing Dordt University with excellence.
