Description Performs overall control of the database tier of the environment, including interfacing between internal and external applications. Manages the Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and ensures data is cleansed. Note: This position requires regular attendance at meetings at the Pentagon.
Required Qualifications
Active or Current DOD Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or other relevant field
Minimum 10 years of experience in computer programming, systems analysis, or systems engineering
DBA experience with 5 years of Oracle database administration, including 1 year with Oracle 12c
Experience with database backup, server migration, optimization, capacity planning, and integrity routines
Extensive knowledge of procedure performance tuning and troubleshooting
Data modeling experience
2 or more years of experience with Army or OSD PPB data models
Knowledge of XML, Web Services, and DBMS data access
Extensive knowledge of database design and implementation
Strong understanding of database management and data analysis techniques
Technical experience with Planning, Programming, and Budgeting (PPB) processes and systems
Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements
Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences
Experience working with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements
Current Security + Certification
Desired Qualifications
Proficiency in preparing detailed specifications for databases and assisting in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of databases for Army systems
Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., ITIL, Agile, PMP, Oracle)
Familiarity with cloud computing and modern application architecture
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
