
Key Responsibilities
Determine fair value prices for securities and instruments not covered by external pricing vendors, and submit these valuations to CP’s Valuation Oversight Committee (CPVOC) for approval.
Oversee and review valuations of structured/alternative credit prepared by the external valuation specialist.
Conduct backtesting and/or benchmarking of internally-derived fair value prices.
Collaborate with the members of the VOC, finance, risk teams on pricing, modeling, developing assumptions and valuation methodologies. Solicit market color from the portfolio management and research analysts for additional data points in the fair value determination.
Review, research, and resolve pricing exceptions promptly to maintain accuracy in valuation.
Escalate pricing issues to the head of the pricing team and CPVOC for further review when necessary.
Collaborate with external pricing vendors and valuation specialists to establish, implement, and maintain appropriate valuation methodologies and related cash flow models for complex structured securities.
Lead periodic due diligence reviews of external pricing vendors and valuation specialists to ensure ongoing reliability and compliance.
Validate fair value pricing of securities using broker quotes and comparable bonds’ spreads and yields through proxy calculations.
Initiate price challenges with approved pricing vendors when discrepancies arise.
Work alongside traders, brokers, and CPVOC members to determine or calculate fair value pricing for securities and instruments not covered by approved vendors.
Prepare pricing-related materials for monthly CPVOC meetings.
Present pricing updates, including exceptions, resolutions, and related commentary, at CPVOC meetings each month.
Identify, validate, and contribute essential pricing data points for fair value forms.
Assist with various ad hoc projects aimed at improving pricing workflows.
Respond to client requests for pricing information as needed.
Address auditor inquiries regarding pricing information and assist in the ASC 820 fair value level hierarchy determinations.
Maintain the valuation policy and desk procedures.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Three to five years of experience in pricing functions, preferably involving private credit securities and instruments.
Prior experience working in valuation audits as a member of a public accounting firm or in the accounting department of a private credit fund preferably.
Comprehensive understanding of financial markets, including fixed income, private credit, asset-backed finance, and related instruments.
Hands-on experience with Bloomberg & Intex and excel proficiency are required.
Strong understanding of asset-backed securities, CLOs, Collateralized fund obligations and other private credit investments is strongly preferred.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to all aspects of pricing responsibilities.
Ability to collaborate, adapt, and think proactively to redesign workflows for greater efficiency.
Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
Demonstrated data analysis skills are considered a significant asset.
Salary Range NY: $85,000 - $115,000 base salary + target annual bonus
