Job Summary The
Phlebotomist – Floater (PSR III)
serves as the face of the organization, delivering exceptional patient care while performing accurate and compliant blood specimen collection and processing. This role requires direct interaction with patients and a strong commitment to confidentiality, procedural accuracy, and service excellence. The PSR III supports physician offices and Patient Service Centers as business needs dictate and must be flexible to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice.
Key Responsibilities
Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures
Draw blood specimens including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Verify patient demographic information and obtain required patient signatures post-venipuncture
Ensure proper specimen labeling in the patient’s presence
Maintain required documentation and records
Maintain a safe and professional work environment
Travel to multiple Patient Service Center and in-office locations as needed
Demonstrate strong customer focus and effective communication with patients and colleagues
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
Keyboard and data entry experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Medical assistant or paramedic training
Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred in MN)
Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience
Retail or service industry customer service experience
Work Environment & Expectations
Onsite role in Coon Rapids, MN
Monday–Friday day shift (Central Time)
Flexible availability may include weekends, holidays, on-call, or overtime based on staffing needs
Training location may vary based on trainer availability
Must comply with company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements
