JOB SUMMARY The primary responsibility of an SBA Closer II is to prepare and review loan documentation for SBA 7(a) and 504 loan transactions in accordance with Bank policies and procedures, SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP 50 10), SBA Terms and Conditions, and the intent of the Bank's internal loan approval. The SBA Closer facilitates loan closings with clients and ensures lien perfection. This role handles documentation ranging from routine to more complex cases, as assigned by the SBA Closing Manager. The SBA Closer collaborates with vendors, legal counsel, SBA lenders, and clients to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation. Additionally, the SBA Closer performs a variety of processing and closing functions, ensuring all due diligence requirements for each loan are met. The ideal candidate consistently earns the trust and confidence of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review credit approval packages to determine closing requirements.

Prepare and/or review all loan closing documents for accuracy, ensuring all loans comply with the SBA Terms and Conditions, bank approval, and loan policy.

Work closely with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, CDCs, and internal teams.

Perform E‑Tran functions.

Ensure all documentation meets SBA and bank guidelines.

Prepare and/or review closing checklists, settlement statements, and loan documents.

Directly manage the loan closing and the final disbursements in accordance with the SBA Terms and Conditions with the bank's loan operations department and/or attorneys.

Input loan information into SBA software and prepare package for submission to SBA.

Order and/or review lien searches, UCC filings, flood determinations, and other reports.

Ensure proper disbursement and post‑closing documentation for SBA guaranty eligibility.

Resolve any problems, issues or questions efficiently and accurately, to ensure customer satisfaction and to maintain productive relationships with other bank staff / departments.

Adhere to policy & procedure of SBA Department and must comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines.

Coordinate pre‑closing meetings for all new SBA loan requests to review pre‑closing requirements with lenders, their team, and/or customer, as existing customer relationship dictates.

Maintain pipeline report and notify management of status as needed.

Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.

Mentor junior closers and assist when needed with processing and closing questions or problems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Operational Functions

Adhere to Seacoast Bank's Code of Conduct.

Adhere to AML/BSA requirements, audit procedures, security, Business Continuity, and all other regulated banking requirements.

Innovate and adapt to technological and industry changes to ensure Seacoast Bank stays ahead of the competition.

Participate in outside classes, seminars, meetings and training to constantly improve development, remain current and aware of new growth opportunities.

Leadership

Responsible for mentoring and training less experienced Closers.

Perform as internal liaison for complex SBA packages.

Develop trusting & cooperative working relationships with customers and associates.

Proactively seek continuing education opportunities to enhance skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.

5‑7 years previous experience in SBA or other government lending programs, underwriting or loan servicing, or related lending fields.

Must be proficient in bank operations and regulations, have an excellent understanding of SBA related products and services.

Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

PC proficiency on Desktop and Laptop devices as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.

SPARK LOS experience is desirable.
