General Summary This position supports and assists Sr. Mortgage Loan Originator in processing Real Estate Loans, Constructional Loans, and Secondary Market Home Loans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Primary:

Possess the knowledge, skill and desire to provide professional services to effectively, efficiently, successfully and legally originate and/or, process and close real estate loans with JD Bank and products with the mortgage company(ies) of JD Bank's choice.

Remains current and complies with all RESPA and other regulatory law, guidelines and general acceptable banking practices.

Represent JD Bank in the utmost professional manner at all times.

Conduct loan processing and closing activities at the JD Bank office of the borrower's request. Employee will meet face to face with borrower to the extent that the borrower needs or requests such level of service.

Provide and maintain reliable personal transportation in order to comply with the above listed responsibilities.

Be accessible to JD Bank office personnel.

Cross-sell JD Bank products and services to borrowers when feasible to borrower

Provide back-up support to other loan originator/ processors when and if needed.

Comply with JD Bank employee standards and guidelines.

Assist Construction Lender with construction draws and inspections.

Order forms pick-up survey for construction loans.

Administrative Functions

Answers call and takes messages for department staff when not available.

Secondary

Ensure maximum program exposure via:

JD bank branch referrals

Solicitation of JDB customer contractors

Realtor relations

Advertising

Adherence to and support of all compliance and BSA/AML rules and regulations related to this job function.

Performs other duties that may be assigned by Management.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); bachelor’s will be preferred

4 to 6 years of experience as a mortgage loan processor

Previous banking or financial institution experience preferred

Preferred Skills

Understanding of loan underwriting and processing procedures

Proficient in mortgage loan computer software

Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Ability to interact in a courteous, helpful and professional manner.

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to handle high pressure, high volume of work and willing to work amount of time necessary to properly complete assigned duties.

Must possess excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software.

Secondary Market Specific Requirements Experienced in FNMA/FHLMC/GNMA guidelines as they pertain the Sellers/Servicing Guidelines, including but not limited to underwriting, appraisals, self-employment analysis, processing and mortgage insurance. Experience in LOS, Caylx, Byte, FNMA Desktop Underwriting/Desktop Origination and GUS.

Scheduling Work schedule will vary depending upon demand, but will consist of an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required. Regular attendance is required of all tellers.
