
Aimé Leon Dore is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join our Product team, reporting to the Senior Director of Technical Design. This role will own all
men’s and women’s woven categories , focusing on bottoms and tops, and will play a critical role in translating design vision into technically sound, production-ready garments while maintaining the brand’s elevated standards of fit, quality, and construction.
This position operates within a
fast-paced, founder-led environment , requiring strong judgment, strong partnership, and the ability to balance creative intent with technical rigor.
Duties & Responsibilities
Own the technical execution of men’s and women’s woven categories from initial design handoff through production approval, operating with a high level of autonomy
Partner closely with the Senior Director of Technical Design and cross-functional teams (Design, Production, PD) to ensure alignment with the development and production calendar
Create, maintain, and ensure accuracy of tech packs, including specs, construction details, diagrams, and mockups
Track sample status, manage fitting schedules, and maintain clear visibility across all stages of development
Lead fit sessions on live models for both men’s and women’s styles; document fittings clearly and translate feedback into actionable technical solutions
Identify fit, construction, and wash‑related issues across gendered silhouettes; propose solutions that preserve design intent while ensuring production feasibility
Issue production‑ready grading accurately and within required timelines for men’s and women’s categories
Communicate detailed and precise technical notes to external vendors, ensuring consistency and fit integrity across production
Maintain internal WIP tracking to keep cross‑functional partners informed of fit status, approvals, and risks
Dive into new projects and reprioritize tasks to meet shifting demands
Manage seasonal capsule projects
Establish and evolve best practices for technical design processes, pattern blocks and fit standards.
Stay informed on emerging technologies, fit trends and production innovation to continue elevating product quality
Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant Technical Designers within the woven category, supporting team development and consistency of standards
Qualifications
7+ years of Technical Design experience, with hands‑on ownership of men’s and women’s woven categories
Deep expertise in Bottoms and Tops across both men’s and women’s fits and constructions
Strong understanding of manufacturing and product development process
Strong understanding of wash processes and their impact on garment fit and performance across genders
Expert in pattern‑making, sewing and garment construction
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, PLM systems, 3D pattern software (CLO or similar)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Suite
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail; able to manage multiple categories and deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex fit and construction adjustments to internal partners and external vendors
Comfortable operating in a high‑volume, rapidly evolving NYC fashion environment
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
