
The underwriter will provide analytical support for the SBA credit department including an independent analysis of creditworthiness pertaining to a diverse type of customers and prospects This position minimizes the risk of financial institution through effective credit analysis and reviewing and analyzing detailed financial institution. The position analyzes current credit data, financial statements, and necessary due diligence data of individuals or companies to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Minimum 5+ years’ SBA credit analysis required.
Ability to
Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of the credit decision process.
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, planning and follow up.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a wide variety of groups to include clients, customers, bank employees & committees, SBA staff, and other parties.
Ability to maintain focus and concentration in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Responsible for preparing basic and comprehensive credit analyses on SBA loans that facilitates the credit approval process for use by loan officers or committees in the making of lending decisions regarding SBA loans.
Analyzes financial statements and related material to prepare summaries and present facts that offer thoughts concerning creditworthiness.
Works directly with clients, agents, SBA staff, and attorneys to process and assess loan applications.
Manages workload and maintains communication throughout the credit decision process to ensure all requests are handled efficiently and processed in a timely manner.
Regularly exercises independent discretion and judgement in the performance of essential job functions.
Prepares credit and cash flow analyses to include business, affiliate, personal, and global; submits credit approval documents and write-ups to appropriate personnel for decision making.
Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Have existing knowledge and maintain knowledge of and adhere to all SBA SOP processes and regulations.
Maintains knowledge of Stone Bank lending policies and compliance standards.
