
Portfolio Analyst, Electricity and Natural Gas

Atlantic Energy LLC is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join our team. This position requires a motivated team player and self-starter.Critical-thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are a must.This position reports to the Portfolio Manager and will work closely with the company risk committee.
Job Summary Atlantic Energy is seeking candidates for aPortfolio Analyst in our Woodlands, TX office. This role will be responsible for planning and executing schedules, assisting in managing long and short positions, profit and loss analysis, and overall management of Atlantic’s power and natural gas portfolios. In addition, this individual will be responsible for structuring retail natural gas and electricity transactions, owning and maintaining commodity pricing models, assisting in the implementation of pricing software, financial forecasting, and pricing, and supporting the documentation and creation of pricing training materials.
Job Responsibilities
Analyzing historical usage information for commercial and industrial structuring requests
Using the historical usage data, running forecasting process for energy usage expectation and providing pricing to Sales Team
Assist in costing, pricing, and structuring retail electricity transactions in PJM, ISONE, NYISO, and ERCOT
Assist with maintenance, development, and validation of forward price curves
Analyze the price risk and volumetric risk associated with serving customers on retail products
Maintain costing model assumptions and prices for structured retail products
Manage and validate booking of deals into systems
Assist with development, testing, and maintenance of application platforms
Provide ad-hoc analysis on market fundamentals, pricing components, and risk exposures associated with deals
Remain up to date with market news and regulations
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a business/analytical field of study (Finance, Accounting, Mathematics)
One or more years of power and /or natural gas scheduling and trading experience
Experience with trade capture and risk management systems
Extensive knowledge in PJM
Excellent analytical skills
SQL, R, or Python skills preferred
Must be detail oriented, productive, and efficient
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be well-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment
Compensation commensurate with experience
