Responsibilities
The golf course superintendent manages labor, time, materials and finances in a manner that is compatible with the environment, meets financial goals and serves our customer and client.
Communicate with employees, owners, customers, vendors, suppliers, golf professionals and others in the golf industry.
Educate community groups about golf course and turfgrass management.
Embed the company core value of Environmental Stewardship through conservation, regeneration, restoration, and sustainable practices.
Duties
Golf course maintenance including clubhouse landscapes and entrance road.
Responsible for executing budget and purchasing, equipment maintenance, fertilizer/pesticide application, trees, lake maintenance, Audubon Certification and community outreach programs.
Experience
A minimum of 3+ years of experience working in a leadership role on a Golf Course is required with a 2 or 4-year turf degree preferred.
Experience with Poa annua/bentgrass greens in Northern California.
Written and verbal skills are important.
Strong relationship building, hiring, selection, and indoctrination skills.
Excellent people skills: interface with government agencies, Golf Committees, and the community.
Passion for environmental management to maintain Audubon Certification.
Spanish speaking is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
$80,000 to $95,000 annual salary.
Shared health insurance.
Annual vacation.
Golfing privileges.
GCSAA membership.
Expenses for regional and national seminars, local chapter conferences and meetings upon approval.
Dues for local chapter membership.
The Superintendent will report directly to the golf course manager.
