Overview Capital Canyon Club in Prescott, Arizona is excited to announce the exceptional opportunity of Assistant Golf Professional (seasonal). Qualified candidates will thrive in a golf environment and be highly focused on providing superior customer service to the members and guests of Capital Canyon Club. (Note: this is not a complete list of job duties.)

Capital Canyon Club hosts approximately 90+ tournaments a years, and produces roughly 21,000 rounds annually.

Experience Required

Qualified candidate must have a great personality and a great work ethic

PGA Associate required. Level 2 or further completion preferred but not required

Knowledge of golf shop operations, tournaments, and leagues (Preferred)

Good communication skills

Self-motivated

Strong customer service and leadership skills

Detail-oriented

Knowledge of Golf Genius Software (preferred)

Knowledge of receiving and managing merchandise and monitoring inventory a plus, but not required

Essential Responsibilities

Remain Current on Continuing Education and PGA Status

Knowledgeable of members preferences and anticipates their needs.

High School or GED; previous experience with POS Systems

Previous Golf Shop Experience

Good Computer Skills

Exceptional Customer Service Skills

Provides the highest level of service to Club members and guests, while ensuring member and guest expectations are met or exceeded Day-to-day Pro Shop Responsibilities

Manage tee times, phone calls, messages and member/guest check‑in

Assist in Tournament Operations

Responsible for merchandising and inventory controls in the golf shop

Assist with Instruction

Facilitate with organizing and scoring of tournaments and events

Assist the Head Golf Professional and 1st Assistant with managing the Outside Service Staff

Play Golf with Members

Train and Implement Procedures for Golf and Pro Shop Attendants, and Outside Services Staff.

Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management.

In the event of the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professionals absence, supervise and manage all aspects of Clubs Golf department.

Work in the busier months (May – October) may require overtime or 40+ hour weeks and weekends and holidays as well.

Be informed of and promote all Club activities and services, including selling and managing tournaments, and other special events.

Direct and guide staff, according to Invited and PGA Standards to promote golf clinics, private lessons, and adult, junior and senior programs, and assist, as necessary, to ensure member satisfaction and that Club Standards are met. Also have the ability to teach and provide instruction to Members and their Guests.
