We work side‑by‑side with small business leaders through our unique integrated model: combining impact‑first Restorative Capital and Pro Bono Business Advising with our Good Jobs Innovation Lab that propels thriving communities with equitable jobs, climate outcomes, uplifts and amplifies their voices and needs through research and policy advocacy.
The Role Are you a strategic storyteller passionate about advancing economic opportunity in local communities? Do you bring a marketing mindset to amplifying mission‑driven impact across audiences and platforms? If so, join Pacific Community Ventures (PCV), a nonprofit community investor that unlocks economic opportunity and climate resilience for small business owners and workers. Through affordable capital, pro bono business advising, and ethical technology and AI, we partner with entrepreneurs to grow, hire, and prosper.
PCV seeks a creative and mission‑driven Manager of Marketing and Communications to lead our marketing and communications work. This role oversees communications staff and contractors, driving integrated marketing strategies that strengthen PCV’s brand, grow awareness, and demonstrate impact across digital, web, and social platforms. Ideal candidates bring strong project management, writing and editing skills, strategic marketing and communications experience, and hands‑on familiarity with basic design, website management, and social media. The role requires timely, responsive execution and a strong sense of excellence and urgency to ensure PCV seizes opportunities to advance our mission.
Specific Responsibilities
Steward PCV’s brand and impact for key stakeholders, building trust in the communities we serve through authentic, compelling storytelling.
Lead implementation of a refresh of PCV’s brand story, centered on our integrated model powered by ethical AI. This includes overseeing updated brand messaging; developing an official brand style guide with visual and written guidelines by audience, department, and medium; and updating all sales sheets, pitch decks, and other marketing collateral.
Own and optimize PCV’s web presence and brand awareness, including web design, content governance, and cross‑functional collaboration with leadership across Lending, Business Advising, the Good Jobs Innovation Lab, and the Radiant Data Hub.
Report to PCV’s new Chief of Staff and collaborate closely with the Graphic Designer contractor and Senior Communications Associate to oversee impact storytelling, branding, and day‑to‑day communications management.
Coordinate PCV’s cross‑functional content calendar, including social media, email marketing, and a monthly cadence of success stories featuring small business owners, volunteers, and partners. Lead PR and thought leadership efforts, including earned media and senior leadership visibility (e.g., drafting and placing quarterly articles and op‑eds).
Work across the organization to tell compelling, multimedia stories, enforcing established workflows and clearance processes while expanding the use of varied formats—such as short videos featuring business owners sharing their journeys, advice, and the value of PCV’s support.
Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities can be added at any time.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience PCV strives to be a workplace that welcomes new perspectives. The ideal candidate brings creativity, strategic thinking, strong project management, and excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a deep alignment with PCV’s mission to advance economic mobility and opportunity. You are curious, adaptable, excited to leverage technology to strengthen your craft, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, mission driven environment grounded in integrity.
