Responsibilities
Establish and grow a robust client base through direct outside sales, telephone and email marketing, networking, and relationship building with companies, associations, travel agents, and commercial businesses.
Negotiate and finalize contracts for hotel rooms, conference packages, food and beverage services, and event spaces to maximize property profits and ensure client satisfaction.
Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and sales trips to key feeder markets as outlined by the marketing plan and budget.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client databases, files, and sales recap reports, and communicate all group requirements to internal teams.
Conduct property tours, host potential clients, and ensure delivery of exceptional guest experiences according to company standards.
Support departmental planning by assisting with budget preparation, sales objectives, and action plans alongside the Director of Sales.
Meet or exceed sales targets, site visit goals, and revenue objectives while managing multiple projects and adapting to evolving client needs.
Participate in the Manager on Duty program and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Must-Have Skills
Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent experience in sales or marketing, with at least two years of relevant experience (including one year in hospitality or hotel sales).
Demonstrated success in B2B and B2C hotel or hospitality sales environments.
Experience negotiating rates, contracts, and event packages within hotel booking guidelines.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and by phone.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and communication tools.
Valid Ohio Driver\'s License and ability to travel locally and regionally, including overnight stays.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience using Delphi and Maestro operating systems for sales and event management.
Membership in industry associations such as MPI, PCMA, OSAE, HSMAI, or SGMP.
Ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve ambitious objectives.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated attitude and commitment to delivering authentic hospitality experiences.
Ability to adapt to heavy workloads and participate in outside sales activities involving significant walking or lifting, especially during events or sales blitzes.
