Job Description: An employer is seeking 2 Distribution Designers to join an Engineering Consulting firm in the Wilmington, NC area. They will be responsible for designing and redesigning power distribution layouts for a large Energy Supplier in the Carolinas under the direct supervision of the engineering manager. They will be tasked with designing layouts and redesigning grids for the client as needed. The ideal candidate will have a background in power or utilities distribution or is a recent graduate with a strong will to learn and grow with a company. This position will cover North and South Carolina. Responsibilities

Design and coordinate the maintenance, relocation, and new construction of the power grid. Fieldwork. CAD application and related design tasks. Environmental compliance oversight. Submit applications for Right of Way easements, DOT encroachment, and railroad & transmission permits. Qualifications

BS or AS in Engineering preferred. Open to going out into the field (30% of the time). 2-4 years of professional work experience (utilities/telecom/power distribution preferred). Design software experience (SolidWorks, MicroStation, AutoCAD or any 2D/3D drafting software). Experience as AutoCAD drafter/technician in telecom, electrical, or utilities field (Internship or Senior Capstone Project Engineering degree: mechanical, civil, electrical, or industrial). Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil/Industrial Engineering (can be a fresh graduate). Duke Energy experience in Power Distribution. Leadership experience.
