SALARY:

$70,304.00 to $120,000.00/annually (DOE), plus commission

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Established in 1913, Electric Motor Shop is a premier electrical contractor, motor repair shop and electrical supply wholesale distributor. Our state‑of‑the‑art repair facility offers all levels of motor and pump repair, service and rewinding, with 24‑hour service availability. Our supply division has one of the largest stocking warehouses in Central California. We also have a fully licensed professional contracting division capable of providing service for small to large industrial projects, including custom panel design and installation, PLC programming, AC drives, and transformer installations.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for developing and sustaining profitable customer relationships within the assigned territory while achieving sales and gross margin goals. This includes proactively identifying customer needs, presenting appropriate products and solutions, and following through with professional service and support. The role requires consistent prospecting, sales calls, and product demonstrations; effective communication with customers, suppliers, and coworkers; and accurate reporting to management.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain profitable sales volume in assigned territory by prospecting new accounts and servicing existing customers.

Make regular sales calls, introduce and demonstrate products, and distribute marketing materials.

Identify customer needs and propose solutions; upsell, cross-sell, and recommend alternatives when necessary.

Build and sustain strong relationships with customers and suppliers; resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Report market conditions, customer concerns, and competitive activity to management.

Partner with suppliers on joint sales efforts to increase business opportunities.

Stay current on products and industry knowledge through research and continuing education.

Represent the company with integrity, professionalism, and adherence to ethical sales practices.

Attend required sales, product, and branch meetings.

Support a safe, clean, and cooperative work environment by following company policies and safety procedures.

Communicate effectively with coworkers, promote teamwork, and maintain reliable attendance.

Handle after hours call duty as assigned.

Carry out other duties as assigned by the department manager.

Requirements Education and Experience

Excellent presentation, communication and problem-solving skills.

Some college, technical degree or job / product related experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in sales required, 5+ years strongly preferred.

Good mechanical aptitude.

Ability to work under minimal or no supervision.

Ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints and against deadlines.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

California Driver's License with clean driving record.

Willing to participate in drug/alcohol/background screening.

Initiative, the ability to work independently, flexibility, enthusiasm, resilience, self-confidence, and self-motivation.

Must be responsible, reliable, honest, and independent.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to safely bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees must be physically capable of opening boxes, crates, and other large containers using hand tools, and may be required to stand or walk for extended periods. Tasks may involve repetitive motion and occasional exposure to warehouse or outdoor environments.

Preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Forklift operation experience.
