Overview The Diplomat Beach Resort & Spa Hollywood, a Curio Collection by Hilton, seeks an organized, collaborative Director of Purchasing with a proven purchasing background. The ideal candidate is service focused, excels at relationship building and problem solving, and has strong knowledge of food and beverage. The ability to work across all levels in a union environment will be an asset.

Diplomat Beach Resort & Spa Hollywood offers 1,000 rooms and 200,000 square feet of space on Hollywood, Florida’s golden-sand beaches. The resort features an infinity-edge pool, a two-story 24-hour fitness center, a spa with ocean views, an on-site golf course nearby, tennis facilities, and diverse dining options, contributing to memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct and control all purchasing functions to ensure the highest quality products at the best prices.

Control inventories at appropriate levels and manage the RFP and bid process.

Obtain bids from vendors according to standards and department heads’ specifications; determine best price and place orders for all items (food and non-food).

Schedule deliveries and monitor the quality of received products.

Interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate staff.

Obtain competitive quotations for hotel requirements and ensure sourcing from company-nominated suppliers where applicable.

Keep locally nominated supplier information current and adhered to; accurately manage the database of active local contracts with suppliers.

Adhere to quality procedures and Hilton policies; work with Finance to draft the annual department budget.

Inform and coach department Team Members to Hilton standards.

Maintain an accurate system for allocating and reconciling purchase orders.

Manage relationships with hotel suppliers and report on their performance.

Lead storeroom operations while upholding health and safety, quality assurance and control procedures.

Compile accurate stock records and maintain records of requisitions and replenishment transactions.

Prepare month-end and ad hoc reports in an accurate and timely manner.

Execute tasks and requests as instructed by the Hotel Manager and maintain/be involved in Beverage Storeroom requisitions as needed.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in hospitality purchasing, with a strong background in food and beverage.

Ability to work with people at all levels in a union environment and strong relationship-building skills.

Strong problem-solving skills and a service-focused mindset.
