Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $58,000.00 Annually
Position Summary The Employment Specialist provides hands‑on workforce development services to individuals in recovery, including job readiness, job placement, retention, and career advancement. This position works directly with participants and employers to achieve measurable workforce outcomes aligned with federal grant requirements.
This is a non‑clinical role and does not provide therapy or clinical treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct employment intakes, assessments, and career planning with individuals in recovery
Provide job readiness services (resume development, interview preparation, job search coaching)
Develop and maintain relationships with recovery‑friendly and second‑chance employers
Support job placement and post‑employment retention (30/60/90‑day follow‑ups)
Assist participants with training, credentialing, and advancement pathways
Track employment outcomes and maintain grant‑required documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum 2 years of direct experience providing employment services to individuals in recovery, justice‑involved populations, or those facing significant employment barriers
Hands‑on experience with job placement and retention (not referral‑only)
Strong documentation, organization, and relationship‑building skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with recovery‑friendly or second‑chance employers
Familiarity with workforce systems and performance reporting
Grant‑Funded Position Notice This position is funded through the SAMHSA Behavioral Health Workforce (BSW) Grant and is contingent upon continued grant funding and performance requirements.
