The Role As the Senior Creative Director, you’ll be integral to our work in helping vulnerable children achieve a brighter future. You will concept, ideate, and design campaigns, ads, films, and other creative work rooted in cultural and human insights that reinforce the Save the Children brand. You will address evolving challenges through creative thinking and design, always keeping the target audience at the center. By applying best practices in how creative integrates across functions, you will help define what differentiates the organization in the NGO space and serve as the subject‑matter expert on visual communication and brand consistency. You will also partner with the Creative Director, Marketing and Growth leaders, department heads, external agencies, and other partners to advance the brand and create meaningful impact for children in the U.S. and around the world. – Washington DC, Fairfield, CT or Lexington, KY office locations What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties) Not inclusive of all role responsibilities. May be subject to change. Art Direction 60%

– Participate hands‑on in concepting and design across multiple projects, maintaining high quality and attention to detail Project Management 10%

– Partner with the Creative Director, creative teammates, vendors, and the Traffic Manager to maintain project timelines; Recommend practical solutions; Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies and proactively share ideas with the Creative Director that support established marketing objectives; Collaborate with internal teams, external creators, and vendors to bring these ideas to life; Seek out opportunities to grow your skillset and continue developing new capabilities Inspiration & Support 5%

– Motivate and inspire junior creatives and cross‑functional teams to develop integrated, high‑impact campaigns, encouraging them to aim higher and move beyond safe or easy solutions Required qualifications for the role Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience with in‑house or agency teams Demonstrated understanding of how strategy works with and inspires great creativity Proven experience working with various social channels, trends, and media to understand audience behaviors Experience collaborating with and the ability to provide clear direction to creators like photographers, video production teams, and illustrators Demonstrated high‑level proficiency in design tools from Adobe, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Express. We expect the hire to come in day one with a well‑developed skillset Proficiency in office and communication applications from Google and Microsoft Professional proficiency and experience with print projects, and the ability to create press‑ready files for production Professional proficiency and experience with digital projects High‑level understanding of Color formats and file types as they pertain to providing the appropriate assets for a particular use case Professional proficiency in MS Office suite Professional proficiency in spoken and written English Preferred qualifications for the role Skills in Canva and Figma A passion for storytelling through images, videos, and words Understanding of UX design concepts High‑level conceptual thinker who can articulate their vision Video editing and animation skills Understanding of international organizations and charities Compensation Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location: Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $91,800 - $102,600 base salary Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $83,725 - $93,575 base salary Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $74,800 - $83,600 base salary The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here ).
