Job Summary The

Proposal Writer

plays a critical role as part of AMN Healthcare’s Deal Desk team, responsible for developing high‑quality, client‑facing proposals that position our solutions competitively. This role oversees the full proposal lifecycle for our nursing and allied divisions, partnering closely with cross functional stakeholders, executive leaders, and proposal leadership to ensure accuracy, alignment, and strategic value. Success in this fast paced, high‑volume environment requires exceptional attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.

What You’ll Do

Facilitates proposal development lifecycle from receipt of Request for Proposal through final submission.

Analyzes client RFP/RFI/RFQ requirements.

Creates proposal outline and deliverable schedule to meet proposal deadline.

Facilitates proposal kickoff meetings with internal collaborators to review proposal timelines, landmarks, and responsibilities to meet the bid deadline.

Develops curated content for proposals based on solution, client objectives, and win themes by collaborating with proposal leadership, subject matter experts, and sales leadership.

Coordinates with subject matter experts and sales leadership to gather input for proposal and all client proposal deliverables.

Uses AMN’s proposal management software and approved content database to prepare initial proposal drafts.

Ensures proposal documents are formatted in accordance with AMN branding and approved proposal templates (e.g., layout, graphics, tables).

Prepares and handles multiple draft cycle reviews for sales and leadership; incorporates feedback effectively from internal stakeholders and executives.

Maintains assigned content within the proposal management software.

Completes required forms and acquire required signatures using DocuSign.

Assembles, finalizes, and submits proposals through the appropriate channel—including email, client portals, or coordinating print, binding, and shipment for hard‑copy delivery.

Consistently meets 100% of proposal milestones and deadlines to ensure timely, compliant, and high‑quality submissions.

Completes additional sales content projects as directed by Deal Desk leadership.

Qualifications Education & Years of Experience

Bachelor's Degree

2+ years of proposal writing experience (i.e., content planning and curation, draft creation, proofing, SME collaboration) |

Required

Strong analytical and communication skills (verbal and written)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience in a fast‑paced environment

Ability to effectively manage a high volume of simultaneous proposals, maintaining quality and accuracy while meeting diverse and competing deadlines.

Ability to effectively manage time and priorities in a deadline‑driven environment

Self‑starter with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a larger team

Nice to Haves

Familiarity with APMP best practices and/or APMP certification

Experience with proposal management software (e.g., Responsive, Loopio, Qvidian)

Experience or knowledge in the nursing and allied healthcare staffing industry

Work Environment / Physical Requirements Work is performed in an office/home office environment. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and have a reliable internet connection.

Pay Rate $66,500 - $79,000 Salary

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.

This position may include additional compensation such as bonus or commission. Please ask your recruiter for more information.
