
About The Role
First Bank of Montana is hiring a Credit Analyst to be an integral part of our team. The position will be located in Choteau, Montana. This role involves providing loan support for loan officers across the bank division and requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service, teamwork, and a willingness to promote the bank's products and services. Professionalism, confidentiality, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability are a must. Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct lending activities in support of loan officers, including loan structuring, pricing, and preparation of credit requests. Assist loan officers in gathering financial information, preparing lending packages, and ensuring files are complete for loan committee review. Identify new lending opportunities within assigned portfolios and engage with customers regarding potential credit needs. Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial credits, including monitoring maturities, renewals, loan covenants, annual reviews, and potential risk concerns. Assist in collecting customer monitoring requirements such as borrowing base certificates and financial reporting. Identify concerns or deteriorating trends in credits and escalate appropriately. Support Relationship Managers with portfolio management involving credit, deposit, and treasury services. Structure and underwrite commercial loans and agricultural loans. Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns using approved tools and credit criteria. Prepare, review, and submit pre-underwriting analyses and credit authorizations. Maintain a pipeline of loans, ensuring organized and timely completion of tasks. Communicate professionally with customers to request financials, respond to questions, and ensure timely follow-up. Participate in meetings with existing or prospective customers as needed. Ensure compliance with Reg B, CRA, HMDA, and Adverse Action requirements. Work with credit, loan assistant, and loan operations teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely processing. Understand loan closing processes and ensure smooth movement of requests through the loan department. Complete annual term loan reviews and assist with problem loan reports. Participate in community involvement and bank-sponsored activities as appropriate. Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and positive conduct in all interactions. Other Job Functions

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or related field preferred Three years of commercial credit analysis experience Three years of commercial lending or commercial banking experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of commercial credit policy, regulations, and credit quality standards Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret financial statements and tax returns Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related systems Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing Strong organizational ability with effective prioritization and multi-tasking Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships and represent the bank professionally Strict confidentiality regarding customer and bank information Comfort in communicating with customers regarding financial documentation, underwriting questions, and follow-up Broad knowledge of bank products, including commercial loans, deposits, consumer/mortgage products, and treasury services Understanding of credit, loan assistant functions, and loan operations workflow Work Environment
