As the Senior Interior Designer, you will:
Lead in a primary design role on assigned projects and collaborate with other designers and Project Managers
Work both independently and collaboratively with a team in all phases of assigned projects
Select furnishings, finishes, and fixtures appropriate to the client’s needs and concept
from Director of Design
Engage in design progress review check-ins with the Director of Design at key progress points
Carry out a custom design to completion, consistent with the established design direction.
Both direct and participate in the drafting of construction documents for detailed custom interiors using AutoCAD software
Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality, and artistry in Construction Documents and other presentation deliverables
Oversee the production of design presentation deliverables, including material trays, digital collages, and presentation booklets
Delegate tasks with clear direction and feedback to junior team members
Interface by phone and e-mail with clients, contractors/builders, architects, and engineers as needed from a design perspective. Share communication responsibilities with Project Managers as appropriate.
Manage challenges with the steady presence of a leader, bringing solutions and reassurance to clients and team members
Participate in the review/redline process for shop drawings and samples for consistency with design intent
Attend vendor representative presentations and meetings to develop and expand product knowledge
Create positive, respectful interactions with other team members, both inside and outside the firm
Qualifications
10+ years of experience at a full-service interior design or architecture firm
Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in the full-service interior design of new construction, luxury residences in the US market
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
NCIDQ Certification PreferredSoftware proficiency in AutoCAD and InDesign; working knowledge of Studio Designer, Adobe Photoshop, and other related design software
Extensive professional experience in all stages of a construction-intensive interior design project
Knowledge of design and construction concepts/terminology common to design projects
Familiarity with sources and materials to select high-end residential furnishings and finishes
Ability to productively receive direction, work well with others, and work independently
Commitment to delivering outstanding design and thoughtful solutions for our clients
Great communication skills, both oral and written
