Audio Sales Engineer

to join our rapidly expanding team in New York State. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead professional sound projects while driving business development in the education, healthcare, and industrial markets. The Audio Sales Engineer will be responsible for designing, bidding, and supporting professional audio solutions while building strong client relationships and elevating Syracuse Time & Alarm’s (STA) audio capabilities. We are seeking someone who embraces responsibility and views this role as essential to the success of our clients and communities—including schools, hospitals, universities, and manufacturing facilities. At STA, Pro Sound Sales Engineers are the foundation behind every school sound system, sports field, auditorium, and facility we design and install. In this role, you will represent STA with professionalism, working closely with engineers, IT managers, superintendents, and end users to deliver high-quality, reliable audio and time solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and maintain client relationships by identifying customer needs and offering customized audio and integrated system recommendations. Prepare and present technical proposals that meet client goals and industry requirements. Work directly with a Sales Manager to develop strategic acquisition plans and grow the customer base. Serve as a trusted technical resource for sound-related inquiries and project opportunities. Technical Design & Support

Analyze customer requirements and design customized professional sound and time systems. Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure while complying with all relevant codes and standards. Bid and design pro-sound solutions for schools, healthcare centers, and manufacturing facilities. Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting and end-user training. Leverage expertise in modern audio equipment and software to meet and surpass expected audio standards. Introduce innovative audio technologies and troubleshooting methods to enhance STA’s offerings. Project & Team Coordination

Collaborate with Fire Alarm, Production, and Installation teams to ensure seamless project execution. Act as a customer liaison, providing product feedback to support continuous improvement and innovation. Align STA with current pro-sound system design trends and best practices. Market & Business Development

Stay informed on industry trends, new audio technologies, and emerging sound system solutions. Contribute to business growth by supporting marketing campaigns and refining sales strategies. Travel within Central and Upstate New York to meet with clients and prospects in person. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field (preferred). Prior experience in technology or audio-related sales preferred. Significant experience with audio design, installation, or field usage. Experience in solution-based sales of technical products or services is beneficial. Proven ability to build and manage long-term customer relationships. Willingness to travel within the region. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive knowledge of modern audio equipment and software. Strong understanding of professional sound system design and implementation. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Effective decision-making and creative problem-solving abilities. Willingness to adapt and revise strategies based on feedback or market conditions. Comfortable engaging with all levels of an organization, from technicians to executives.
