
Content and Communications Manager

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Content & Communications Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of content strategy for the MSO’s social media, including working with the Director of Marketing to develop the digital advertising strategy across platforms. Analyze and compile metrics; aid in developing key strategies. Create content, drive narratives, and develop materials that promote and strengthen the MSO’s mission and brand.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In coordination with the Director of Communications and Director of Marketing, design and implement social media strategy to align with marketing and communications goals.
Lead in the MSO’s relationship with Capacity Interactive, working in partnership with the Director of Marketing.
Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily. Manage social media content calendar and digital social advertising.
Utilizes graphic design tools, such as Canvas, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator, to develop graphics, images, and video for social media distribution.
Develop organic content and support video production with partners and other departments.
Work with artistic liaisons to obtain content developed by guest artists and edit as needed.
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer reviews.
Compile and analyze social media metrics and Google Analytics, as well as CI dashboards to monitor MSO brand and reputation.
Through communications strategies, keep internal constituents in all departments informed of potential reputation threats and social media listening results.
Presence at concerts and events for communications and social media needs.
Work with digital media partners to develop content for social media and websites.
Assist with local media interviews or appearances as needed.
Manage freelance photographers and schedule photo shoots.
Proofread all marketing and communications collateral, including ads, emails, direct mail, web updates, program books, and content.
Assist with internal publications and email as needed.

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE The position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, arts administration, or a related field, and 3-5 years of digital communications experience. Event promotion experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of social media platforms a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math skills required.
REASONING ABILITY Able to collect data and information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES This position requires demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain highest level of organizational skills and attention to detail. Regular attendance is required.
