Overview
The Export Compliance Specialist is responsible for conducting export-controlled information review and jurisdiction classification duties across the business segment, ensuring compliance with U.S. export and import regulations.
This is an in-office position based near Rochester, NY or Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities
Conduct ITAR and EAR export jurisdiction reviews of hardware, software, and technical data
Support license review and applications
Perform HTS, ECCN, and Schedule B classification determination
Review and approve technical data transfers and public domain disclosures
Implement trade compliance policies aligned with U.S. export regulations
Participate in trade compliance audits and assessments
Develop, deliver, and complete required compliance training
Identify and recommend trade compliance process improvements
Manage competing priorities to ensure timely completion of activities
Maintain audit ready documentation supporting export activities
Qualifications
5 years’ experience in export compliance, defense and aerospace industry a plus
Engineering Degree preferred
Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations
Working knowledge with OCR EASE
Understanding of tactical radios and software export regulations
Experience supporting audits, investigations, and regulatory inquiries
Strong data analytic skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborating with others
Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
