Job Description IHI Power Services has a great opportunity for an experienced Asset Manager. This is a remote position.
Job Summary The Asset Manager is responsible for delivery of safe, compliant, and optimized performance of the renewable assets assigned to them. The Asset Manager will provide oversight on behalf of the Owners to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance and drive performance to meet or exceed the generation and financial goals for their assigned assets. This exciting role offers plenty of opportunities to work with cross-functional teams and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This role also offers a senior leadership career path in Asset Management. The role requires minimal travel and offers the flexibility to work remotely.
Job Functions
Act as the single point of accountability for the commercial operation and performance of assigned assets.
Ensure all contractual obligations with counterparties, service providers, and stakeholders are met in a timely, accurate, and quality manner.
Interpret agreements and quickly respond to questions about contractual obligations.
Provide oversight to the O&M team to quickly resolve issues and ensure optimal performance.
Provide oversight to warranty claims and insurance claims processes.
Serve as the primary point of contact for O&M provider, investors, and offtakers.
Ensure compliance with PPAs, financing and tax equity agreements, interconnection agreements, and various regulatory requirements.
Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for stakeholders and investors.
Support internal reporting, budgeting, and administrative processes for strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities for asset optimization and risk mitigation.
Support senior management in development and implementation of strategic asset management plans to improve asset performance.
Participate as a collaborative team member in projects, assigned by the Director of Asset Management, that may require coordination with various functions across IPSC and/or Projects.
Step into the Director, Asset Management role when directed by leadership.
Education and Experience
10 years of work experience in power generation preferably in Asset Management, power plant operations, project management, contract management, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or finance or business.
Preferred experience with solar plants in PJM, ERCOT, SPP, or other RTOs/ISOs.
Preferred NERC compliance experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to manage lots of detailed data to draw insights and convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Resourceful and persistent, results‑driven professional with strong problem‑solving skills, integrity, and a solid work ethic, attentive to detail with ability to understand business issues quickly.
Proactive and adaptable, excelling in fast‑paced, dynamic environments with ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and deliverables.
Ability to work well with outside customers/consultants to achieve organizational goals with experience in collaborating with and fostering effective partnerships with peers, leadership, and vendors.
Can‑do attitude and ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects with a diverse group of people and departments.
Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones etc.
Ability to work after hours on occasion as business needs dictate.
Physical Abilities
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, write, read, stand, walk, bend over, and be alert at all times.
The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
While infrequent, employee may need to visit fleet locations in which employee may need to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, drive (vehicle), stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
