TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 28,000 students in 2019‑20. Position Summary Assist the Outreach & Marketing Specialist of Workforce Solutions with special projects and outreach efforts.
Event Representation
Represent Workforce Solutions at college events, job fairs, high school programs, and community outreach activities.
Social Media Management
Manage and schedule content for LinkedIn and Facebook.
Create and launch a new Instagram page to expand the organization’s social media presence.
Content Creation
Support planning and creation of content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
Design branded marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and digital assets.
Capture and edit video content showcasing employees, students, and program offerings across TCC campuses.
Website Updates
Update website content to reflect current programs and events.
Customer Service & Feedback Conduct follow‑up calls to students and business partners to gather feedback on recent interactions.
Collaboration & Campaign Development
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative and cost‑effective campaigns and outreach strategies.
Functional Responsibilities Attend College Fairs & Community Events
Promote Workforce Solutions programs across Hampton Roads by participating in college fairs, community events, and partner organization activities.
Set Up & Manage Outreach Table
Ensure outreach tables are organized and engaging for attendees.
Distribute Marketing Materials
Hand out flyers, brochures, and other branded materials; collect contact information for follow‑up.
Professional Representation
Maintain a positive and professional presence that reflects the organization’s mission.
Track Engagement Metrics
Monitor attendance and engagement at events for reporting purposes.
Document Outreach Activities
Contribute monthly and quarterly reports by documenting outreach activities.
Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram).
Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Cap Cut, etc.).
Basic video editing skills and comfort with video production.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Assist with the development and organization of internal marketing systems and processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
Support the setup and upkeep of shared folders and content libraries to ensure easy access for the team.
Additional Considerations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic website management.
Operation of a State Vehicle
Ability to travel across Hampton Roads as needed.
