We’re hiring for our client — a nationally recognized design firm uniting architecture, engineering, interiors, and landscape architecture under one collaborative vision.

We’re seeking an Interior Designer to join our client’s progressive, innovative, and inclusive design practice based in the Rochester area. As an Interior Designer, you’ll lead interior design services across a range of project types, guiding teams from concept through construction. You’ll shape interior environments that elevate how people live, work, and connect — balancing functionality, beauty, and wellness.

What You’ll Do

Leading meetings on small projects, work with team members on large projects.

Contributing to programming and space planning analysis.

Communicating design solutions that meet project goals.

Implementing scope identified within proposal contract.

Creation of presentations, material/mood boards, renderings, meeting minutes.

Research and selection of trends and products to understand limitations, content, durability, cost, and maintenance.

Contributing to timelines, project costs and fee estimates.

Translating design intent into project documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

Participating in construction administration (site visits, submittals, and punch lists).

Communicate with the project manager when additional services are requested.

Maintenance of materials library and meeting with industry representatives.

90% office setting, 10% active construction site visits.

Requirements:

Has a college degree in Interior Design or Architecture along with 2-5 years of experience in Interior Design

NCIDQ certification required

Knowledge of LEED V4 and WELL is preferred but not required.

Understand the roles/responsibilities of project team members, interior design principles, and practices.

Understanding of interior building codes and regulations

Understanding of the documents required at each phase of a project.

Detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to maintain high-quality standards and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Revit, Word, Excel, Power Point, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D color renderings, and other programs.

Individual will work in a normal office setting and occasionally visit active construction sites, and must be physically able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and keyboard.

Position requires occasional lifting, up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
