
Marketing & Events Manager – Crux Houston

Dedicated Houston Marketing Manager will run all Crux Houston marketing accounts, social media, and events. They will be the connector between our community and everything we do at Crux. We are looking for someone that has been to Crux, understands our branding and feels confident in being able to uphold it in this new market.
The Roles and Responsibilities of this role are as follows for Houston location only unless otherwise noted:
Manage all marketing and events at Crux
Make sure Crux’s branding guidelines are upheld throughout marketing and events
Manage PR company – if one is on retainer
Send latest events and deals
Coordinate announcements
Review press releases
Be available for interviews with media
Attend bi-weekly meetings with PR team to brainstorm ideas and give/receipt updates and feedback
Manage Graphic Designer
Request graphics with at least 2 weeks notice
Tweak designs or give feedback
Prioritize projects for them, as needed
Manage Marketing and Event Coordinator – 10-20hrs monthly
Meet bi-weekly to ensure tasks are completed
All CBL and member appreciation events are co-covered by coordinator
Help coordinator to attend events outside of Crux – ensure they have all the supplies and giveaways needed. Events include but are not limited – Limestoner, Granite Gripper.
Fill in when the event coordinator cannot complete a task or assignment
Implement social media campaigns on Instagram and Facebook – coordinating with each manager on what needs to be highlighted
Post 1-2/day
Maintain stories and reposts of customers
Update Highlights weekly/monthly
Watching trends and applying them when applicable
Communicate event details to staff and members through Comm Log, Monthly Calendars, and Email
Create Monthly newsletter
Run Customer.io email campaigns when applicable
Edit and maintain website
Full day commitments for major events – climbing competitions
Plan major events – announcement, advertising, day-of operations, and debriefs
Run ad campaigns when applicable
Run print ad campaigns as necessary – coordinating delivery of ad, ad content
Manage relationships with photographers – booking them for the events needed or for general ad use
Meet with COO Weekly to go over department items – and bi-weekly with Austin Marketing manager
Attend weekly manager meetings and once a month in-person meetings
Manage Marketing and Events budget
Answer Houston info@cruxcc.com related emails
Fulfill Houston donation requests
Experience
Strong ability to multitask
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of Facebook and Instagram – including stories, highlights, analytics
Skill in Microsoft and Google Suite
Skill in Adobe Illustrator
Ability to match Crux’s current voice in social media
Basic knowledge of email marketing and website wordpress editing
Experience placing instagram ads
An eye for photography for social media
Access to a vehicle for errands around events and to pick up marketing materials
21+ (for picking up kegs when necessary)
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Marketing/Event background highly sought after
