
Crate Builder
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented builder responsible for constructing custom wooden shipping crates to precise dimensions and ensuring products are safely prepared for transport. Previous experience using table saws, nail guns, staple guns, and other power tools is required. Key Responsibilities: Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on work orders. Prepare and move products for shipment using a forklift and overhead cranes Perform duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, banding, labeling operations, and sorting Prepares finished product for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product. Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow safety policies Qualifications Required: Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing Experience with pneumatic and power tools is required Must have experience reading a measuring tape Perform basic visual quality inspections on products Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit and use hands to operate the telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and bend and twist neck. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
