Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service. Assist customers by offering product suggestions and solutions. Utilize suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements, and one-on-one customer interactions. Answer and respond appropriately to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director as needed. Department Operations & Merchandising Plan daily operations and monitor production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability goals. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce as required. Build produce displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area and the department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. May oversee operation and maintenance of the Salad Bar (where applicable) and Fresh-Made programs. Maintain department standards, including Fresh-Made requirements and overall product freshness. Staff Leadership & Training Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing responsibilities. Supervise, train, schedule, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales practices, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement. Apply working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Initiate personnel actions such as pre-employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Inventory, Reporting & Shrink Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every four weeks. Control inventory to ensure proper product quantity, quality, freshness, and compliance with division directives. Stock and rotate product; maintain and organize the produce cooler. Enforce proper code-date compliance for all department products. Control shrink and manage departmental costs effectively. Equipment Operation & Product Handling Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders against invoices, inspect product quality, report shortages, stock items, and rotate product appropriately About Us
