The Assistant Director will also provide financial counseling for both current and prospective students, as well as their parents, in all areas of educational financing (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payments, student employment, and student loans); responsible for analysis of financial aid applications by performing reviews utilizing both federal and institutional needs analysis; make professional decisions based on established policy (federal, state and institutional).****Position Responsibility:***** Provide comprehensive advice and assistance to students and families in all areas of financing their Wellesley education (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payments, student employment, and student loans).
Will also require participation in outreach efforts and activities that emphasize Wellesley’s commitment to access, affordability, and other financial literacy initiatives.* Responsible for a financial aid reading caseload.
Professional judgment decisions must be made within established federal, state, and institutional guidelines.* Position requires extensive and timely communication with parents and students, prospective and current, in person, email, and on the telephone. Skills must be excellent.* Stays up to date on trends, regulations and policies in Student Financial Services, attends professional development programs as required.* Assist with administration of other office processes, as assigned.****Basic Qualifications:***** Bachelor's degree is required.* Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in higher education and/or one of the areas that comprises Student Financial Services (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payment, student employment, educational financing) or related field.* Strong preference given to demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals needs analysis (federal and/or institutional).* Experience with a wide variety of software and database applications, such as PowerFAIDS, Workday, Google, and Microsoft Office.****Skills and Abilities:***** Ability to work independently, but to also contribute positively to a team approach.* Demonstrated experience in providing superior service, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong group presentation skills.**Flexibility & Schedule**: We value a collaborative hybrid environment.
You will join us on campus on three days a week and two days remotley. Some evenings and weekends will be required.
