Job Description The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for supporting the Superintendent with onsite construction supervision and coordination on assigned Next Phase Construction, Inc. job sites. The Assistant Superintendent is expected to perform duties in accordance with the Company’s Core Values, Business Ethics, Employee Conduct, and Confidentiality policies while maintaining professionalism with owners, consultants, labor representatives, and public agencies.

Maintain job schedule (Assist)
Schedule and coordinate all contractors (Assist)
City inspections (Assist)
Third party inspections/reports (Assist)
Maintain Quality Control in assemblies and materials (Assist)
Implement Contract Documents (Assist)
Material deliveries (Assist)
Conduct weekly jobsite meetings (Assist)
Manage general conditions and costs (Assist)
Submit daily field reports (Assist)
Manage onsite staff (Assist)
Ensure safe jobsite operations and cleanliness expectations are met
Keep jobsite in compliance with all OSHA and SWPP regulations (Assist)
Take project progress photos and videos (Assist)
Assemble submittal packages to various jurisdictions (Assist)
Effectively communicate with building staff, inspectors and officials, contractors, design consultants, owners, bankers and investors
Assemble back up material as needed & package in an orderly manner for approval, etc. (Assist)
Request and track bids (Assist)
Expedite review of RFIs, submittals etc. (Assist)
Log and track RFIs, PCOs, submittals, correspondence and other project documents (Assist)
Comply with company policies and administrative procedures
Coordinate procurement and review of all close out documents (Assist)
Develop & update construction schedule (Assist)
Develop & update Master Schedule (Assist)
Oversee punch list and other closeout processes (Assist)
Requirements
1-3 years or more of construction experience; superintendent experience preferred.
Working knowledge of:
Construction Document design process
Plan Check and Permitting Process
Bidding, addendum, and contract award process
Change order process
Common construction equipment and techniques
Common construction materials and systems
Contract provisions and contract administration
Cost savings vs. Value Engineering and such efforts and methodology during various stages of design.

General computer usage with emphasis in Microsoft Office
Jobsite safety
Various components of “front end” specifications for construction contract documents
Ability to read blueprints & understand various stages of drawings & specs.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Understand A/E & other consultant contracts
Understand roles & responsibilities of team members
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive
Ability to work in an outdoor environment, including in inclement weather.
Ability to work beyond regular work hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
Education Requirement Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture or equivalent job experience.

Compensation $100,000-$120,000 per year. Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, and geographic location.
