Job Description: The Specialist, Trade Compliance Technical Specialist will be part of the IMS Segment Jurisdiction/Classification Team that supports multiple U.S. Government, foreign government and commercial programs across the various business units of L3Harris’ Integrated Mission Systems Segment. The Technical Specialist will provide technical and regulatory expertise to the team as it ensures that all business units meet regulatory, corporate, and local compliance requirements for the export jurisdiction and classification determination and import HTS classification of all commodities, software, items of information and related services being exported from, or imported into the U.S.
Essential Functions:
Perform as a proactive, self‑motivated, highly organized team player with the ability to handle shifting priorities.
Support up to 10% domestic and international travel.
Be trained on the job to support the Technical Specialist role, to include:
Determining the jurisdiction and classification as well as Schedule B of commodities, software, information and related services in support of export and import operations.
Obtaining export Commodity Jurisdiction determinations and Commodity Classification Request results, as needed.
Reviewing supplier and OEM classifications and documenting internal concurrence or re‑classification for export and/or import.
Supporting engineering teams across the IMS business units with application of “design for export” concepts.
Supporting the monitoring, maintenance, and retention of records and documentation used for jurisdiction and classification determinations and HTS classifications in accordance with regulations and L3Harris policy.
Supporting compliance audits and assessments.
Supporting development and presentation of appropriate training for L3Harris staff, including engineering and supply chain stakeholders.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related technical field and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
United States Citizenship required with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Desire to learn the classification of products according to the ITAR, EAR, and HTSUS.
Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to comprehend highly detailed laws and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to perform research and logical analysis.
Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
Perform duties with minimum supervision and participate in cross‑functional projects as assigned.
Analyze, evaluate, and develop input to existing and new processes and procedures.

Benefits: In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $71,500 - $132,500.
