With an array of specialty treatments, the Spa at the Park is truly the best day spa the East Bay has to offer. We are seeking a Spa Director to join our outstanding team. The Spa Director assumes overall responsibility of the salon and is responsible for the direct supervision of the Spa Associates including all therapists, attendants, Front Desk agents and all Spa operations. They ensure all guest service standards and booking protocols and best practices are followed. They are in charge of guest retail sales, inventory and ordering. They represent the hotel in a manner that enhances the reputation of Spa and the hotel within the local community and industry. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hires, trains, and evaluates staff. Oversees the maintenance of the spa including overall cleanliness, service and ecomonic use of resources and supplies. Determines and implements promotion to increase patrons and sales for salon. Creates activity schedules. Prepares budget including expected annual revenue and expenses. Researches, evaluates, and services spa equipment. Ensures standard operating procedures, protocols and best practices as they relate to Spa’s Front Desk are executed consistently. Ensures staff are in neat and professional uniforms and that their overall appearance meets hotel grooming and hygiene standards. Completes critical administrative responsibilities. For example, they are responsible for overseeing, controlling, and resolving staff and guest issues. Completes reports, coaching and evaluations, and submits payroll documents in a timely and conscientious manner as required or upon request. Prepares and posts work schedules as prescribed by operating forecasts. Identifies retail product and manage stock according PARs and the annual budget. Conducts monthly inventories. Works with the Accounting department to resolve discrepancies. Ensures guests leave pleased with expectations exceeded; resolves issues before guests depart the outlet, identifies guest needs and responds proactively to their concerns. Trains and empowers staff to meet service requirements to a 4-star level. Escalates situations expediently as appropriate and necessary. Communicates accurate and timely information throughout the spa operation as it pertains to spa and hotel operations, performance results and future business. Distributes updates and ensures all on a need-to-know basis are appropriately informed in a timely manner. For example, communicates the hours of operation for the other outlets, VIP guests and/or groups in-house, occupancy and upcoming special events and trainings. Develops and executes strategies to maximize sales and guest service outcomes. Onboarding of new associates and trains new and established associates with respect to the protocols, standards, and best practices. Works with the hourly team responsible for back of house operations to ensure the facility is kept in a clean and like new condition with daily monitoring to ensure compliance. Maintains a cooperative and professional work relationship within the spa, all auxiliary hotel operations and third parties that have an impact on the spa operation to deliver exceptional guest service to a 4-Star standard. For example, works cooperatively with the Sales department, the Accounting department, and the hotel’s Front Desk to resolve service, reservation, special guest requests and billing issues. Performs daily stand ups for hourly staff and attends weekly management meetings. Represents the hotel at pre-cons, site visits, and other meetings as necessary or directed. Observes all safety protocols and holds others accountable to hotel and departmental safety standards and procedures. Maintains clean and well‑organized outlets in the interest of health and safety. Watches for and takes corrective measures against any hazards, which pose a safety concern to our associates or guests. Completes other duties, tasks and projects as assigned. All other duties as assigned by the Managing Director. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the hotel facilities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manages and supervises employees in the Spa. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS

The ability to effectively deal with associates and customers some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts Able to create Spa reports, business correspondence and memos Excellent organizational skills Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English A strong knowledge of service standards, good communication and interpersonal skills needed. Meets legal age requirements for the position EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Two years of previous relevant experience within hospitality or the spa industry is required. Familiarity with reservations systems such as Spa Soft or Book for Time. Experience with retail sales and inventory management preferred. CERTIFICATES AND LICENCES

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 per year. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience, type of hotel experience, and education.
