Position Overview Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS) is seeking a strategic and results‑driven Director of Business Development to lead and expand new revenue opportunities for La Ley 92.1 (KROI-FM) in Houston, Texas. This leadership role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business partnerships while contributing to the station’s overall financial growth and market presence. This individual will play a critical role in pitching and securing new business, maintaining and growing existing client relationships.

The Director will work closely with internal stakeholders to execute business development strategies that align with station goals and drive sustainable revenue streams. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record in media sales, leadership, and market development.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Partnership Development

Identify and secure new business opportunities that align with KROI-FM’s strategic goals.

Help develop and deliver compelling partnership pitches, proposals and presentation tailored to client objectives.

Participating in client meetings with confidence, professionalism and strategic insight

Support new business initiatives by researching prospective partners, developing ideas and identifying revenue opportunities.

Develop and grow direct relationships with CMO’s and senior brand leaders to create high impact, scalable media partnership that extends beyond traditional ad buys

Create custom solutions-driven campaigns that meet client needs across multiple media platforms including broadcast, digital and streaming.

Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients to generate sustainable revenue growth

Lead outreach efforts, presentations, and negotiations to convert prospects into long-term clients

Collaborate with programming, marketing, and sales teams to deliver integrated solutions

Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reporting on business development

Representing SBS in community and industry-related events to elevate brand visibility

Provide input into pricing strategies, market forecasts, and competitive analysis

Support General Manager and executive leadership with key growth initiatives

Qualifications

Demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset, identifying innovative ways to improve processes, go to market, and think big from ideation through execution.

Manages a wide range of tasks effectively, demonstrating a broad skill set and the versatility to adapt across roles and situations.

Completes additional projects and assignments as needed, effectively managing all assigned lines of business.

Position requires strong written verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management skills

Basic Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred)

Minimum 5 years of experience in media, broadcast, or related sales leadership roles

Strong understanding of sales principles, revenue generation models, and market analysis

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

Understanding of Nielsen ratings methodology and data interpretation preferred

Additional Information
