
Job Description
As a Regional Estimator at David Weekley Homes, you will provide critical support in the review and development of new plans, ensuring accurate and reliable material estimates across assigned markets. This position prepares take-offs, manages cutsheets, reviews plan changes, and updates estimates to support construction execution and organizational decision making. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Cost
Monitor extras and identify opportunities to reduce variances.
Partner with local teams to support variance elimination efforts.
Evaluate plan changes to determine whether new engineering is required and coordinate as needed.
Quality
Participate in the redline phase of new plan development and verify completion prior to estimating.
Prepare accurate counts and required take-offs.
Manage all necessary cutsheets by plan.
Confirm flooring cutsheets and ensure alignment with estimate quantities.
Process take-off change requests and adjust estimates when applicable.
Capacity
Estimate materials required to build each plan.
Provide accurate and complete estimating tools that support construction execution and decision making.
Update estimates and related deliverables in response to plan changes.
Qualifications
Knowledge of residential estimating practices and principles required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong problem solving abilities, clear communication skills, and a sense of urgency in day-to-day work.
Maintains focus and motivation, consistently meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying concepts and processes to peers and partners.
Collaborative team player with an understanding of business goals and the broader organizational context.
