Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for an
E-Commerce Digital Photographer
to provide outstanding service using our values of love, kindness, and respect.
Goodwill of Central Iowa’s (GCI) values of love, kindness, and respect guide our work. The E-Commerce Photographer provides excellent service by photographing and uploading digital images of collectible or valuable donated goods for online listing on various platforms.
Key Compensation and Benefits
A competitive retail industry compensation package – $16 – $18.50/hour dependent upon relevant years of experience.
PTO increases after 1 year, 2 years, and 4 years!
What you’ll do here:
Efficiently and effectively identify key visual aspects important in the sale of trending, valuable, or collectible donated goods.
Capture quality digital images using product photography guidelines to meet and improve productivity and revenue goals.
Style and merchandise items to be photographed using supports, mannequins, or other staging equipment.
Photograph, organize, and upload product layouts including front and back photos, close‑up details, flaws, certifications, and selling features such as brand logos, signatures, or important identifiers.
Upload digital images to assigned online sales platforms according to platform requirements through GCI processes and/or policies within defined department goals.
Keep work area organized and clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
Must have a high‑school diploma or be currently enrolled, or a minimum of 2 years of any combination of military service, high‑school, or related full‑time paid employment.
Experience and working knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and jewelry preferred.
Proficiency in using current digital photography cameras, equipment, and technology.
Proficiency in photography lighting and photo editing techniques.
Must be able to take high‑quality photos quickly and accurately.
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and deadlines.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to perform basic math.
Ability to work both independently and with a team effectively and flexibly.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and meet goals.
Ability to use a computer or electronic handheld device to enter or retrieve data.
Safely uses equipment such as a conveyor, wheeled cart, or rolling tubs.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
Physical Requirements
Ability to occasionally carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds.
Ability to consistently carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds.
Prolonged periods of stationary work at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to remain physically active to navigate work area for extended periods of time.
Must have visual acuity to identify and photograph selected donations.
Ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to operate a digital camera, grasp, feel, and move objects.
