
The Social Media Manager, under general supervision of the Social Media Strategist, is responsible for implementing Experience Scottsdale's social media strategy, enhancing our destination brand, and building strong online communities through our various social media platforms. This position develops and administers social media content that aligns with the social media strategy and is designed to engage users and create an interactive relationship between consumers and the company, as well as collects and reports social media data to the social media strategist.

Organic Social Media : Work closely with the social media strategist to bring the organic social media strategy to life. Implement an editorial calendar to manage content and plan campaigns. Manage all social media handles, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest and Threads. Provide content (copy, photos and video) for social media accounts and post regularly; analyze and recommend improvements to social media campaigns; optimize company pages within each platform to increase visibility of social content; report monthly metrics for all social media efforts; and evaluate and recommend new social media opportunities and best practices.
Community Management:
Manage daily social care across all Experience Scottsdale social platforms, including monitoring comments, direct messages, mentions and tagged content. Respond in a timely, on-brand and visitor-first voice while providing accurate destination information, escalating inquiries when needed, and fostering positive engagement with visitors, members, partners and the local community.
Paid Social Media:
Work closely with the social media strategist to identify successful organic content for paid efforts. Work with digital marketing manager to prepare content to be utilized for paid efforts.
Social Media Operations:
Assist with developing and implementing social media and marketing campaigns, contests, and promotions to engage customers and build fans/followers/subscribers; use project management software and content calendar to manage social content on ongoing basis to deliver a consistent and engaging visitor experience; update regularly the photo management tool; search for user-generated content daily. Oversee Sprout publishing, tagging and quality assurance.
Content:
Manage content deliverables for the photo library and social. Perform post-production editing, which can include audio mixing, music mixing, sound effects, video motion graphics, animation, and other special effects by using in-app or other social media editing tools as needed.
Content Creator Program:
Recommend and vet prospective content creators based on direction from social media strategist. Reach out to creators for upcoming needs to gauge interest, plan content shoots and create shot lists or creative briefs. Coordinate with members and/or venues to solidify schedules and secure access, review content and provide edits, and create new contracts. Collects invoices from creators for the social media strategist and monitors budget based on allocated spend. Updates content creator collateral and documents.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
A passion for social media.
Experience with social media platforms.
Experience with content and editing tools.
Proficient with working on a Mac.
Photography and video skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Experience managing relationships with social media influencers and content creators.
Creative, detail-oriented, has a positive attitude, works well as part of a team, and has confidence to interact and communicate with Experience Scottsdale staff, members and outside vendors.
Preferred:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premier, SEM Rush, Canva, CapCut, and Sprout Social.
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field such as marketing, communications or business administration. Minimum of 3 years of work experience, which can include internships. Must have experience running business social media accounts and short-form video. Experience in the hospitality industry and photography preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands This job operates in a hybrid office/remote setting but also requires active participation in outside meetings and destination activities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position requires up to 10% travel.
