Summary In alignment with Gift of Life Michigan’s core purpose and core values, the Social Media Coordinator works with the Digital Communications Specialist to assist in developing and implementing Gift of Life's social media and digital marketing strategies to build more support for organ, eye, and tissue donation and to highlight the need for more organ and tissue donors.

Duties & Responsibilities

Create, schedule, and post messages, graphics, and information, including videos and photos, on all Gift of Life social media platforms.

Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of social media strategies and/or posts to boost public engagement with the sites and with Gift of Life and report findings to leadership.

Stay current on the latest social media and digital marketing best practices.

Coordinate with Gift of Life’s public outreach initiatives and amplify community stories that may be shared across targeted social media.

Coordinate with Gift of Life’s outreach programs and initiatives and other communications strategies, both internally and externally.

Manage the mascot program such as scheduling, ensuring transportation, and costume storage.

Analyze social and Google data and develop reports.

Serve as a backup webmaster for Gift of Life’s website and intranet and other external communications.

Assist other Gift of Life departments with their digital presence, as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education and/or Experience

Required

Associate degree in digital media, communications or related field and minimum of four years relevant work experience OR a combination of 6-8 years of relevant education and related work experience.

Experience and understanding of current social media platforms and their usage.

Demonstrated mastery of Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.

Experience with video production and editing for social media usage and other environments.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in digital media, communications, and minimum of four years relevant work experience.

Hands‑on experience with photography and videography.

Prior experience in a healthcare organization, transplant center, or organ/tissue procurement organization.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSA)

Written and verbal fluency in English.

Ability to exercise initiative, critical thinking, and problem‑solving.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Teams and other technology systems used in business operations.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Ability to manage task or project assignments and meet deadlines.
