Summary The District Sales Manager is a field sales role accountable for delivering profitable year-over-year growth within SKF's Lubrication Lifetime Solutions group industries and associated product line/brands. The DSM reports to the Regional Sales Manager and is responsible for business planning and driving sales growth within current and new customers throughout the entire geographical district.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver consistent and sustainable year-over-year sales and profit growth within the assigned geographical area.
Achieve short- and long-term strategic goals through strong focus on customer acquisition, retention, closed deals, and exceptional relationship building.
Business planning and accountability: develop and deliver a detailed business plan.
Pipeline development and management: grow and maintain an accurate sales funnel, consistently filling it with new and lucrative opportunities; update CRM tool with customer activities.
Manage existing accounts to retain business and create opportunities to secure additional business from existing customers.
Handle customer advocacy: respond to inventory levels, shipment status, POs, forecasting, and quotes; remain vigilant regarding customers, market, and competitors.
Work internally to ensure customer orders can be fulfilled to expectation.
Provide accurate customer item forecasts and collaborate with demand chain to maximize inventory efficiency.
Aggressive prospecting for new customers: find new customers that use the products, make initial contact, and manage them from lead to opportunity to closed deal.
Proactive and continuous customer connection: ensure SKF project involvement, timely quoting, and professional follow-up to solidify a positive experience.
Job Requirements
Competitive and hungry: continuously build a pipeline of new business opportunities while focusing on closing existing opportunities.
Strong desire to win and highly competitive.
Minimum of 4‑6 years of successful field sales growth/experience in lubrication or related field (preferred).
Technical Sales experience with strong mechanical aptitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation ability.
Proven track record of winning new business time after time.
Tactically pursue new customers by making frequent cold calls.
Experience with CRM and SFA tools required.
Competitive spirit with a strong desire to hunt for new business.

Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time domestically as needed.

Ability to manage time efficiently, unsupervised and work from home, company office, and on the road.
