Summary Sr Manager, Shopper-Consumer Insights (M3) The Sr Manager, Shopper-Consumer Insights (M3) drives the strategic direction of shopper and consumer understanding across key business units. This role oversees a portfolio of insight initiatives, leads cross‑functional insight integration, and partners with senior leaders to influence commercial strategies. The Sr Manager also plays a critical role in talent development and capability building within the insights team. The position is responsible for managing client & tool contracts, including negotiations, and ensuring the involvement of relevant stakeholders across the organization. Job will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities The Company is one of North America's leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management, and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers, and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Relationships: Build strong, long‑lasting relationships with existing clients; conduct strategic business analysis, understand client needs, and position the organization as a trusted partner in delivering insightful, data‑driven solutions.

Strategic projects, reporting and insights: Conduct analysis, generate insights, and produce reports that assess the health of the economy and marketplace. Educate client, customer, and vendor communities across all levels of seniority. Integrate multiple data sources to deliver detailed reports, incremental deliverables, and strategic insights highlighting performance trends, competitive dynamics, opportunities, and risks. Synthesize complex information and present it to internal business units and external stakeholders with expert communication skills.

Tools and resource management: Identify, scope, test, and launch new tools aligned with evolving technological advancements to enhance the insights suite. Support cross‑functional teams in evaluating technology needs; create and maintain training documentation; lead workshops and facilitate knowledge sharing. Collaborate with tool providers to develop custom templates and troubleshoot technical issues.

Client contract management and negotiation: Engage proactively with senior client leaders quarterly and annually to assess partnership health and identify growth opportunities. Negotiate contracts, including scope of work, cost to serve, pricing, and alignment with internal finance teams. Draft contracts and conduct resource planning. Seek opportunities to expand existing contracts.

Growth and business development: Collaborate with clients and customers to identify category white space and uncover new brand opportunities aligned with strategic goals. Develop compelling client narratives, support RFP processes, including preparation, pitching and follow‑up. Identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities by connecting clients to the organization’s comprehensive suite of internal resources.

Team development: Provide strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of teammates, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Mentor and model a collaborative, inclusive work environment. Set clear expectations, give regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations. Conduct formal training sessions and workshops. Partner with senior leaders to develop reporting templates. Lead monthly internal business insights meetings to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (graduate level degree preferred).

Experience Requirements: 12+ years experience in a relevant field.

Travel requirement: Some travel expected.

Supervisor Responsibility

Direct Reports: Hire, retain, train, coach, guide, direct, and develop direct reports using company‑wide processes, tools, and resources.

Indirect Reports: Delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to indirect reports.

Environmental & Physical Requirements Office/Sedentary: Perform essential functions in an office environment; sit for 66%+ of each day. Ability to hear telephone, enter data on a computer, and lift up to 10 lbs. Field: Perform essential functions in a retail in‑store environment, including variable temperatures such as refrigerated areas, freezer sections, and deli/bakery areas. Spend 66%+ of each workday engaging in physical activity; lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; stand on feet for long periods; use consumer goods products; prepare and serve food and beverages safely as relevant for product demonstration.
