Job Description Seeking a

Gen AI Strategy & Innovation Specialist

within a commercial oncology-focused pharma organization, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s AI vision. The specialist will define AI strategy and roadmaps, lead pilots and POCs, partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable AI solutions, and drive responsible AI governance, enterprise adoption, and continuous innovation informed by market and technology trends. 12 Month Contract, Berkeley Heights, NJ (1-3 days on-site), $75-80/hr

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain an AI strategy aligned to business goals and long-term vision.

Identify and prioritize AI/ML use cases with clear ROI.

Build strategic AI roadmaps covering modernization, capability building, and rollout sequencing.

Lead AI pilots, POCs, accelerators, and innovation lab initiatives.

Assess emerging AI tools and vendors and recommend adoption.

Drive a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.

Translate business needs into actionable AI requirements.

Partner with data science, engineering, and product to deliver scalable AI solutions.

Present strategy, progress, risks, and outcomes to executives and teams.

Support AI ethics, risk, and responsible-use frameworks.

Enable enterprise-wide AI adoption through training and change management.

Define and track KPIs for AI initiatives.

Track trends in GenAI, automation, and MLOps.

Benchmark competitors and industry best practices.

Provide insights to guide strategic decisions and portfolio priorities.

Required Skills

5+ years in commercial pharma, specifically Oncology, with strong understanding of oncology commercial operations.

10+ years in strategy, innovation, and product management, including 3+ years in AI strategy, digital transformation, or AI product management.

Strong knowledge of AI/ML (predictive analytics, NLP, computer vision, generative AI) and end-to-end AI delivery from ideation to scale.

Proven ability to turn complex technical topics into clear, executive-ready narratives.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Hands‑on experience with cloud AI platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP Vertex AI or similar preferred).

Background in consulting, enterprise strategy, or innovation labs is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MLOps, data governance, and production AI environments.

Familiarity with CRISP‑DM, Responsible AI frameworks, or model risk management.

Advanced degree (MBA, MS in AI/ML, CS, Data Science, or related) preferred.

Demonstrated success influencing stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
