A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GOLF COURSE MANAGER As a Golf Course Manager, you spend your day performing and assisting with the supervision and coordination of golf course activities and daily operations. Your work also involves managing financial and purchasing aspects; assisting with tournaments and activities; monitoring inventory; and overseeing daily golf course maintenance including turf and soil management. You will manage the day to day operations of the golf course, collaborating with departments to plan daily golf course activities. You will need to ensure that all the required training for employees is completed while managing the golf course maintenance operations to assure a healthy and manicured golf course. Your work typically involves managing administrative functions, including budget, contracts, purchasing, operational reports, vendor relations, and inventory and communicates to direct report. Your job is essential to the city, you tactfully address conflicts when completing enforcement activities and maintain positive attitude when dealing with customers. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills, problem solving skills, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GOLF COURSE MANAGER
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Education Preference: Master's Degree in related field.
Educational Substitute: Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
Required Work Experience: Requires three (3) year experience in golf course in a management capacity.
Experience Preference: Five (5) years' experience of Golf course experience in management capacity.
Must have a current and valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
