Iteris is seeking a
Manager, Sales Estimation & Quoting
to lead and scale our regional quoting function. This is a player‑coach role responsible for producing complex quotations while coaching, training, and mentoring a team of estimators and driving continuous improvement in quoting quality, speed, and conversion. This role is critical to shaping process discipline, bundle consistency, and Salesforce/CPQ execution across ITS hardware, software subscriptions, and services. The Manager partners closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Channel, and Order Operations to ensure quotes convert cleanly to billable orders and support Iteris' broader revenue and margin objectives.
What you will be doing:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Sales Estimators, setting clear expectations for quality, responsiveness, and accountability
Act as a hands‑on contributor for complex or strategic quotes while serving as the escalation point for the team
Provide ongoing training on quoting best practices, product bundles, Salesforce/CPQ usage, and public‑sector procurement workflows
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, shared learning, and execution excellence
Develop accurate, compliant quotations from customer requests, plan sets, and specifications using Salesforce and CPQ/price books
Review bid documents (RFP/RFQ/IFB), properly qualify scope, and deliver value‑engineered solutions aligned with customer requirements
Drive standardization and adoption of approved bundles across hardware, software, and services to improve speed, margin, and consistency
Draft and oversee submittals (cut sheets, compliance matrices, APL/UL references) to support timely awards
Process, Tools & Efficiency
Own and continuously improve quoting workflows, templates, and a centralized quote/submittal library
Partner with Sales Operations to improve Salesforce hygiene, opportunity structure, approvals, and reporting accuracy
Identify and eliminate friction in quote‑to‑order handoffs, ensuring clean POs, SKUs/BOMs, pricing, tax codes, and terms
Capture lessons learned from wins and losses to improve future bids and responses
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Serve as the primary quoting partner to Account Executives, Solutions Engineering, Channel partners, and Order Operations
Coordinate across Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to unblock deals and accelerate revenue recognition
Define, track, and report KPIs including quote volume, cycle time, on‑time quote rate, quote‑to‑order conversion, bundle adoption, and submittal
approval rate
Use data to coach performance, forecast capacity, and drive continuous improvement
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual team targets
What you need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Over (5) years in quoting, sales operations, inside sales, or commercial support for technical solutions
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or informally managing others in a sales support or operations function
Strong proficiency with Salesforce (opportunity management), CPQ/quoting tools, and Excel
Ability to read and interpret plan sets, one‑lines, layouts, and specifications/SOWs
Experience working with distributors, contractors, manufacturer reps, or public‑sector project quoting (ITS, traffic, low‑voltage, or related)
Highly organized, execution‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Collaborative communicator who can align Sales, Engineering, and Operations around a common outcome
The anticipated on target earnings for this role are $160,000 to $205,000. This amount includes annual base pay plus quarterly commissions. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual's job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
