Responsibilities Exemplify the principles of friendliness: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate our customers. Encourage the promotion of Corporate Brands to our customers. Foster trust and respect among team members. Ensure customers feel welcomed and valued by answering inquiries about products offered both in the department and throughout the store. Develop knowledge of produce items sold within the department, and be prepared to answer questions and make recommendations. Assist in the preparation of produce platters and trays. Communicate current produce specials to customers. Make tailored recommendations to meet customer needs. Prepare, package, label, and manage inventory accurately. Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action as needed. Label, stock, and maintain accurate inventory of department items. Report any discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the department manager. Maintain a positive attitude at all times. Stay informed about current, upcoming, seasonal, and special promotional events. Ensure the correct temperatures are maintained in produce cases and coolers, while keeping temperature logs updated. Support safety initiatives by adhering to safety protocols and identifying and reporting unsafe conditions to management. Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs to the appropriate managers. Notify management of any accidents involving customers or employees. Report safety risks, illegal activities, or any security concerns to management. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment. Manage conflicts professionally, cooperatively, and without confrontation. Act with integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues. Provide direct interaction support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Be capable of performing all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively. Strong communication skills. Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction. Possession of a current food handlers permit upon employment. Desired Previous Experience Retail experience in a similar role. Ability to communicate in a second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
